Apothecary cabinets are characterized by having many small drawers and were traditionally used to store Chinese herbal medicines. Today, one might use them to store sewing, office, or hobbyist supplies or other small household items. Of course, for the herbalist practitioner, they can be returned to their original use. If nothing else, they make spectacular accent pieces because of the high level of craftsmanship required to build them.
